Interior of the Crown & Blade barbershop with leather chairs and walnut cabinetry
Our Story

Built on Respect for the Craft

Crown & Blade opened in 2014 to bring traditional barbering, dependable service, and a more refined shop experience to Royal Oak.

Since 2014

A Neighborhood Shop With a Higher Standard

Crown & Blade started with a simple idea: that a barbershop could feel both traditional and genuinely refined at the same time. Marcus Bennett opened the doors on Heritage Row in 2014 with two chairs, a set of properly maintained tools, and a commitment to doing the work the right way.

Over the years the shop has grown to five barbers, a renovated interior, and a roster of regulars from across Royal Oak and the surrounding neighborhoods. What hasn't changed is the approach — listen first, work carefully, and finish with intention.

We're proud to be a part of downtown Royal Oak, and we treat every client who sits in the chair the same way: with attention, consistency, and respect.

What We Stand For

Four Values Behind Every Cut

The standards every barber in the shop is held to.

Precision

Every cut is measured against the details — the hairline, the blend, the finish.

Consistency

You should get the same quality standard from any barber in the shop, every visit.

Hospitality

A comfortable chair, an unhurried conversation, and respect for your time.

Craftsmanship

Traditional tools, proper technique, and a genuine respect for the craft.

Our Community

Proudly Part of Royal Oak

We value this neighborhood, the local businesses around us, and the long-term relationships we've built with the people who keep coming back. A barbershop only works when the people in it trust the people doing the work — and we don't take that trust for granted.
